The first Fleet drinking fountain prototype was launched during the London Design Festival 2018, installed in the V&A’s John Madejski Garden.

The second prototype to be installed, also the first in the public realm, was inaugurated the following year outside South Kensington Tube Station, supported by South Kensington Estates.

Both installations were met with enthusiastic support and generated considerable public interest, highlighting the unfulfilled need, and appetite for, beautifully-designed drinking fountains appropriate for the public ream and conservation areas. The findings from these pilot projects have informed the re-design of the production model.
